Owning our story

I have been speechless at times these past several months.  In the wake of #Charlottesville, I had been searching for words to share here, and I kept coming up empty.  

Then I saw this video that Brene Brown posted.  Some of you may know her from her books Daring Greatly or The Gifts of Imperfection or from her Ted Talks on Shame and Vulnerability.

This video touched me more than any of the books I have read or videos I have watched by her though.  Thank you Brene for your words, for your courage, for giving us the courage to own our story so that we can change the ending.  

White folks, lets own the collective story of white supremacy in this country and lets work on being ​anti-racist so that we can create a new collective ending.
