Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker providing individual counseling for adults and clinical supervision for social workers.
We are here to awaken from the illusion of our separateness. --Thich Nhat Hanh
***Due to the coronavirus pandemic, I am currently only seeing clients via telehealth (either video or audio appointments). ***
I'm not currently accepting new clients. If you would like to be on my wait list, please send me a message. If you are looking for help with substance use and are interested in taking a class that will teach you harm reduction techniques and skills, please go to the Classes tab to find out more.
I’m sorry that you have been struggling with whatever brought you here, but I am so glad that you are reaching out for help. Sometimes you just need someone to listen. Sometimes you feel stuck and need someone to help you find a way out. I can help! My clients would tell you that I am a great listener, am non-judgmental, and meet people where they are at.
Several of my core beliefs drive my work with clients. I believe in the dignity and worth of every individual. I believe in the importance of human relationships. I believe that each person is unique and that there is no such thing as a "one size fits all" for mental health treatment. I believe that every individual has strengths and wisdom. It is my job to help you find and use your strengths and wisdom so that you can go in the direction you want to go and live your life based on your values.
I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LW60635493) and a Chemical Dependency Counselor (CP60819634) in the state of Washington. I also have a Master Addiction Counselor credential. I have worked in the mental health field since 2001 and have been in private practice since 2013. I work with individual adults who struggle with various challenges, but my favorite issues to address are challenges with mood, thoughts, substance use and self-worth. I welcome those of diverse backgrounds into my practice, including people of color, people from the LGBTQIA communities, and people of all religious beliefs.
My counseling style is tailored to each person, but I often utilize motivational interviewing, acceptance and commitment therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy in my work with clients. I draw from humanistic, strengths-based, and systems perspectives. I utilize a harm reduction approach regarding substance use and/or other unwanted behaviors.
I offer services in Gig Harbor and online if you are located in Washington State.
Feel free to contact me by phone or email, to see if we would be a good match for each other as you work towards your goals.
