You have probably heard that mindfulness can be helpful for many situations. But did you know that mindfulness can improve your mental health? Mindfulness meditation isn't always easy, but with practice, you can see results quickly. Some people ask me how they are supposed to meditate when they cannot concentrate (for example, one of the symptoms of depression is having difficulty concentrating). To start out, I would suggest taking some deep breaths. You may count the breaths if helpful and think "in" and "out" as you are breathing. Then just notice whatever comes to mind. If what is coming to mind is that you cannot concentrate, then that is what comes to your mind. Whatever comes to mind is okay. Just recognize it, acknowledge it, accept it, watch that set of thoughts go, and see which thoughts come next. Here is an infographic on mindfulness. Let me know if you have any questions.
