I heard that when opening a private practice, or almost any business nowadays, you need a blog to connect with potential customers/clients.
But for over six months, I have been procrastinating. First, it was summer and all of the busyness that comes with beautiful, sunny months in Oregon. Then, it was, “I only work part-time, I don’t have time to blog.” Other excuses were taking care of my child, spending time with my husband, household chores, dragon boat practice, social obligations, and then the often-present, “I am just too tired.”
And then, of course, there has been this big question all along: What am I to write about?
So, I kept putting the blog off. Until now. And it feels good to finally start something that I know I have been needing to do.
I imagine this could be similar to people knowing, or at least suspecting, that they need therapy, and putting it off. Procrastinating. Perhaps this has been you? Looking at website after website trying to find the best therapist. Maybe narrowing your search and considering picking up the phone to make an appointment. And then, finding other things to do instead. Or rather, using all of the things you already have to do in your busy life, to convince yourself that you don’t have time. I’ve been there. It is hard to start. And also worth it.
Are you ready to stop putting off something that you know you need? Something that will help you to make the changes you have been wanting to make? Are you ready to feel good about making the first step towards getting help? If so, I’m looking forward to hearing from you.
